Good day golfers,
We are a full month into the golf season and given all the changes this year, it has been a tremendous start. The golf course is in outstanding shape and the Turfcare team is working hard to ensure all golfers have the best possible experience. Kelli and Dylan Ireland and their team have opened the restaurant and are providing their exceptional food and beverage service. The Pro Shop staff have had to adapt to significant changes this year and have met every challenge and are consistently providing a service level that exceeds expectations. Finally, the Board of Directors have been very busy organizing and managing projects which are close to completion such as the deck, hitting cages, the fence around the maintenance yard, and soon the parking lot.
The following information is to keep our members updated:
Men’s League - CANCELLED. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 restrictions which have significantly reduced the social aspect for the league, have also contributed to a minimal amount of interest and as such we will have NO Men's League for the 2020 season. We will run a Men’s Night/Day periodically throughout the season, where we will have draw prizes and other prizes for those that wish to play that day. Players may book a tee time anytime during the day and play 9 or 18 holes with anyone they wish. Men that play on the designated Wednesdays will be eligible for draw prizes on that day.
Member’s Match Play - Sponsored by Body Building Depot - will proceed as a double knockout (lose twice). The first matches are to be completed by June 20, 2020. Please complete all matches by the deadlines indicated to enable the event to finish this season. A link to the bracket will be on our website and we will have a copy available in the Pro Shop. The players contact information will also be available in the pro shop to coordinate your matches. Each player will get an email to inform them of their next opponent. Please pay your registration in the pro shop prior to your first match. Play well, have fun.
Golf Carts - As indicated in previous communications, golfers may take their golf carts into the parking lot to load and unload their clubs. During busy times, we ask that all efforts are made to return the cart promptly to the cart area to enable our team to sanitize the cart for the next golfer.
Green Aeration - The Turfcare team will be aerating the front nine greens starting June 10 at 5:00 PM and the back nine will be aerated starting at 6:00 AM June 11. All efforts are being made to reduce the impact on the tee sheet, however, we ask that all golfers be patient.
Volunteers Needed - We are requesting volunteers to help clear the cores from the greens after they have been aerated. We will need volunteers on June 10 at 5 PM and June 11 at 6 AM you may help for as long as wish. Please reply to this email or call me if you are able to help.
HALO Air Ambulance Golf Event- HALO Air Ambulance will be running a fundraising golf event, where golfers that wish to support HALO may register, pay the entry fee and then play a round of golf (9 holes) any time from July 6-12, 2020. Prizes will be based on a Callaway scoring system. Posters will be in the Pro Shop and the event will be on our website on the Events tab if you wish to gain further information.
Ladies League - Ladies League has over 80 participants and will be playing on Tuesdays. We welcome each player and look forward to meeting each of you. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.
Monthly 50/50 Draws - We will be running a Monthly 50/50. We will have a total of the pot posted in the pro shop. Get your ticket(s) at the pro shop. The last day of each month will be the draw date.
Newly Renovated Deck - The Board of Directors have been working hard to get the deck completed. Within the next few days, the flooring will be installed, and it will be fully operational with the capabilities of being totally enclosed. It looks awesome and we look forward to lots of socially distanced laughs to be shared.
Marshals - We have many individuals that have offered their time to Marshal the golf course. Our marshals are in place to help with the pace of play and to help golfers with social distancing issues. You may even see them raking bunkers, filling divots, and sanitizing the washrooms. Please treat them with respect as they are extremely valuable to the course. I want to thank Len, Bill, Dwaine, Doug, Ed, Corry, Bill, Wayne, and Jerry - I truly appreciate your help and support.
